For community and charity events
Safe and fair bingo
A good bingo night brings people together and supports a clearly explained cause. Hosts should be transparent about prices, prizes and where funds go; players should know exactly what they are joining before buying a book.
What hosts should make clear
Publish the organiser, beneficiary, ticket price, prize plan, event time, house rules and contact details before sales open. Explain how winners are checked, when prizes are paid and what happens if the event is postponed or cancelled.
Keep the game fair
Use unique traceable books, announce the prize pattern before calling, keep an accurate record of calls and pause to verify every claim. Hosts should never change the rules, prize or eligible books after a game begins.
Spend with the event in mind
Buying a book supports an event and offers a chance to win; it is not a way to earn money. Set a comfortable amount before joining, do not borrow to buy books and never use money needed for bills or essentials.
Age, eligibility and safeguarding
Dabber is for adults aged 18 or over. Hosts must follow the authorisation, location and eligibility conditions that apply to their event, protect participant details and provide a clear way to raise a safeguarding or fairness concern.
Questions or concerns
Contact the host first about calls, claims or prizes. For help with Dabber, contact support@dabber.ie or use our support and complaints page. If spending or play is becoming difficult to control, independent support remains available from GamblingCare.ie.
